Jelena Dragnić

Second violins leader

Jelena Dragnić is a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic as first violin tutti since 2006. She has performed with this ensemble in Vienna, Graz, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and on tour in Europe and the US, under conductors Zubin Mehta, Uroš Lajovic, Muhai Tang, and Gabriel Felz. She is the former concertmaster of St George Strings Belgrade, and currently serves as concertmaster with the Chamber Orchestra Ljubica Marić Belgrade. 

In 2015 Jelena participated in chamber and orchestra concerts at Maribor Festival under artistic leadership of Richard Tognetti. Other guest preformances include opera and concert tour with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in Baden-Baden, Luxembourg, Essen, Dortmund, Frankfurt and Paris, with concuctors Kent Nagano and Daniel Harding. 

Jelena is the first violin and co-founder of Belgrade Philharmonic String Quartet since 2011. She has performed with the Quatet at festivals such as Silver Lyre in St Petersburg, Abu Dhabi Classics, and in Paris, Harbin, Tian Jin, and Izmir. Other performances have taken the Quartet to Festival Ljubljana, Musik Festtage Oder (Poland/Germany), Festival Espressivo Cetinje, Strings Festival Perast, Kotor, Podgorica (Montenegro), and OHO Concet Series in Oberwart (Austria). The Quartet’s first CDincludes works by Beethoven and Brahms.

Jelena Dragnić holds Master degree from Faculty of Music Belgrade, where she studied with Dejan Mihailović. As a holder of the Walter Stauffer Foundation Grant, she completed her Specialist studies in Cremona in the class of Salvatore Accardo. Jelena also participated in masterclasseswith Igor Ozim, Christiane Hutcap, and Liana Isakadze.
