The founder and concertmaster of the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra (BCO)
Miljana Popović Materni
After working in the fields of symphonic and chamber music for a long period of time, and an abundance of concerts and collaborations (both nationally and around the world), I have decided to combine my experience and enthusiasm, and form an ensemble with my highly esteemed colleagues. BCO is a chamber orchestra that will, in the most polished and beautiful way possible, present classical music pieces! All of the members have known and collaborated with each other for a long time. This connection, as well as the dedication of the entire orchestra, allows us to have the best results possible. I look forward to upcoming concerts and an unforgettable chapter in all of our professional lives!

Being an orchestra and quartet musician, and occasionally soloist and teacher, balancing those activities for many years now, I got a wonderful invitation: to join young and energetic Belgrade Chamber Orchestra as their principal cellist. What a joy, to be part of this group! It was impressive to see how BCO made their breakthrough as resident ensemble at Brixen Classics in South Tirol, and is making huge success at Wintermärchen in Hamburg, right from their start, under the batton of Daniel Geiss. And today, after many concerts in Belgrade, tours and guest performances with the BCO, my musical journey has become more balanced and more complete than ever!

My love of music, in addition to the research of various musical genres, are only parts of the reason why I chose to play in the BCO. BCO is full of up-and-coming young artists, who use their enthusiasm to contribute to a healthy work atmosphere, which has become a rarity these days.
